WHY CAN’T THERE BE COMPLICATED, ILLUSTRATED FICTION FOR ADULTS?
I’ve always loved comics, but as my interests in philosophy, nuance and deep characters developed, I had a hard time finding illustrated stories that checked all of those boxes.
CHALLENGE
Can I combine a deep, fantasy tale with complicated characters and illustrations and still appeal to adults?
STRATEGY
As indie publishing has grown from 80k titles in 2008 to over 800k titles in 2017, I knew that would be my own path. It would allow me full control over marketing and content.
EXECUTION
I launched the book on Amazon and online simultaneously, with the entire story free to read on justanaz.com. As the first of an in-progress trilogy, Just Anaz is meant to build a platform for future publishing.
